I don't know how I never heard about this park in the 3 years I have lived in the area, but it's my new favorite place to run (and it's where I took Meagan for the picnic yesterday).
Happy Valley park was built next to wet lands that have been preserved and beautified by the Eagle Scouts and other financial contributors. I love running there because you feel like you are in the middle of a little forest. I can run longer and farther than I do anywhere else because I forget I'm even working out. Twice I've even seen a cute little bunny dart in and out of the bushes. You would never know the park sits in between massive Happy Valley housing developments.
Today, it was blasted hot, so I cut through the park mid-run and ran through the fountain to cool off. Nice feature! I probably totally freaked out the kids playing in it though(:
I should be careful not to tell too many people about because it's harder to feel like you are all alone when other people join you on the narrow path. So - shhh. Keep this secret between us.
Today's favorite things: Happy Valley Park and Coffee
